What Is an At-Home Sleep Study (HSAT)?
An at-home sleep study, also known as a Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT), is a portable test used to diagnose sleep apnea while you sleep in your own bed.
The device records:
- Breathing patterns
- Oxygen levels
- Heart rate
- Body position
It is highly accurate for diagnosing moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and is often the first-line test for uncomplicated cases. The device is provided by our clinic, and results are reviewed by your pulmonologist.
Who Should Consider an At-Home Sleep Study?
You may benefit from a sleep study if you experience:
- Loud snoring or gasping during sleep
- Excessive daytime sleepiness or fatigue
- Morning headaches
- Difficulty concentrating
It is also recommended for patients with:
- Treatment-resistant hypertension
- Atrial fibrillation (AFib)
- Obesity with nighttime breathing issues
- Preference to avoid an overnight sleep lab
